Catherby is a small fishing town on the western edge of the Ice mountian. It is extremely popular for its high amount of fishing areas and its farming patches that are close to a bank. It's also one of the more aesthetically appealing areas of Runescape.

Bank: The bank is the epicenter of the city. Many people are frequently banking fish, farming supplies, flax, etc.

-Fishing Area: This is one of the major reasons people go to Catherby. It is considered a fantastic fishing spot, as there are many opportunities to fish and a wide variety of fish near a bank.

-Yews: To the west of the bank there are many Yews to cut. This is a great area for woodcutters to check out because of the proximity to a bank, plus there are quite a few Yews here.

-Farming Patches: In Catherby there are two farming patches. One is a tree patch to the East near the White Wolf Mountian. The other is a main farming patch north of the bank. There is a leprechaun and a farming store there. If you farm you will most likely need to use the main patch and the tree patch later on.

Water Obelisk: Directly south of the fishing area is the Water Obelisk. You can access it by going through the Taverly Dungeon. Here is where you can charge orbs into Water orbs.

The Docks: The docks have two charter ships that will take you to Brimhaven (480 gp), Karamja (480 gp), Mos Le'Harmless (625 gp), Port Sarim (1000 gp), Shipyard (1600 gp), Port Khazard (1600 gp), Tyras Camp (3200 gp). If you wear a Ring of Charos (a), these prices are split in half.

White Wolf Mountian: White Wolf Mountian is the only way to get from Taverley to Catherby or vice versa unless you have completed the Fishing Contest Quest. There is a Gnome Glider on the top part of the mountian.

Catherby Teleport: Lunar Diplomacy required to use.

Fairy Ring: Combination BLR to Fairy Ring teleport to the Legends guild. Then walk north. (Completion of Fairy Tale Part II required)

White Wolf Mountian: From Taverley walk through the White Wolf Mountian.

White Wolf Mountian Tunnel: A much quicker way to get to Catherby from Taverley. Requires completion of Fishing Contest quest.

Gnome Glider: Take Glider to Sindarpos and then walk west from White Wolf Mountian.

Catherby was considered by many back in RS Classic to be one of the beginning spots of members. Before Mortyania the f2p areas were all in the east, and everything on the west was Members land. For many people who bought membership Taverley and Catherby were the first lands that a member would experience.

It has since been updated through farming, by giving it a vegetable patch and a fruit tree patch.

Fishing Contest

This city is not a necessity for pures. It is a very useful city if you are training in fishing/cooking, woodcutting, or farming. Other than that the only reason this city is important is because it is considered the gateway to members land.
