  1. Here's my .02 .... This game is done. There's 2 types of people who still play this game - idiot mains who skill for fun all day and suck at life, and people who probably should be doing other things with their lives but still play for the community/their clan/nostalgia. Completely changing the game will get rid of the 2nd type of player, who will finally decide that this is the last straw. In return, this will indirectly get rid of the 1st player. Why? The first player enjoys the game by making money via skilling. Well, who buys all the crap that they make in this game? No matter what skill it is that produces something, it ALWAYS ends up being bought by the 2nd type of person (whether it be pures, pkers, or even high level mains that just fight monsters - again, this updates will make anyone who's played the game for too long quit, which includes maxed mains). All the objects that skilling brings into the game end up as either arrows, armor, potions, food, runes, etc. - the only reason anyone buys that stuff is for PK'ing, PvM, or alching (which, guess what, is done only by PKers and PvM'ers). So there will be no demand for anything, prices will drop, no one will make any money, and the 1st type of player gets bored and quits. If Jagex were smart, they'd do what they did with RSC and let the game continue to be played as is now but with no more updates. What do they have to lose... MORAL OF THE STORY: IF IT AIN'T BROKE, DONT FIX IT!!!! Goddammit every ******* big company out there needs to learn that.
  2. sup Bond nice sig ^

  3. I'm one of the last 1 def's left, well 2 actually from a glitch. My current stats are: 50 Attack 85 Strength 84 HP 2 Def 44 Pray 94 Range 82 Magic Your fastest training is probably Soul Wars. If your looking to make money, honestly I would probably try other stuff besides earning it legit through killing monsters. I'm not really an expert on it though considering I only have about 15M total, and at least more than half of it was acquired through various looting/drop trading/drop party techniques.

    Homosexuality..

A religious person with sense? You are an intelligent man. It kind of worries me that so many people can be against homosexuality in a modern society which openly accepts it. The people who still think its "wrong" are definitely living in the past and need to open their eyes. Almost everyone in our age group accepts it, it's the older people that currently hold all the power that don't. And you can't blame them - they've lived for 60+ years where there was no Internet or other means of gaining knowledge for oneself, and everyone mindlessly followed what adults told them. Now, if a 10 year old was curious about something, they can google it and have the answer in 10 seconds or less. Back when our parents and grandparents were growing up, if an adult withheld information from a kid, they wouldn't learn the truth for YEARS. It's only a matter of time before it is legalized, like it or not. Not to beat a dead horse, but I think it is disgusting, but that in no way gives me the power to tell others what to do.
  5. Freelancers, KO Pures, Divine Hybrids..
  6. You worded your post terrible but I agree with what you are trying to say. On Reddit, there's an Ask Me Anything topic done by an ex-RS content developer, and I forget what prompted him to say this but he said how he didn't like that all the new updates were done because the exec's want to mold the game after WoW. I take some business classes at school and I am by no means an expert, but this is just an idiotic business strategy. Here's Jagex, with their own successful, UNIQUE game, making a good amount of money, so what do they decide to do? Change their game so that it's NOT unique, and is basically a shittier version of an already-existing (and way more successful) game. That would be like if you developed your own small alternative energy company and were making good money, then for ****'s and giggles decided to make your energy more like gasoline so you could compete against Exxon and BP. Whoever is in charge of these decisions, I'll gladly take HALF his salary and stop the constant flow of retardation coming from their developers.
  7. ^Agreed. My question is, why havn't they listened to the players? Its almost like facebook, they made some good changes, but because they wanted to progress further and further and keep making "new" changes, it isnt as good as the original. I'm sure they know that people don't like many of the post-2007 updates, so why do they feel the need to "Add more updates" to try and cover up for the changes. Why not just make things as original as possible? --Mara I was actually thinking the same thing as far as Facebook goes. Remember when it switched over to the version its on now - there were groups of millions of people complaining. Now that everyones used to the current version, it isn't so bad, but now their changing to that Timeline crap, and everyone I've talked to in real life hates it... just STOP CHANGING ****!!! I don't know why they don't understand that. Honestly, though, it's all cuz of money. Under Andrew, RS was (for the most part) always headed in the right direction. When he sold it off, the new owners of Jagex only seized the opportunity cuz they thought they could make some money. Just look at some of the new updated we've seen - P2P Double XP Weekends? Triple zeal day? Long-term membership discounts? Squeal of Fortune? All are just blatant attempts to try and meet their financial goals. No chance in hell any of that happens under Andrew.
  8. I'm still retired as of now but jesus christ what a ******* stupid idea. ripoff of WoW anyone? Definitely gonna fail because they have a different game than WoW, so they attract a different audience. By making their game a shittier version of WoW, most of the current players have no reason not to make the leap to WoW, leading to the end of RS. IF ITS NOT BROKEN DON'T FIX IT <- some of the best advice you can give. If they stopped updates in November 2007 this would still be a fun game.
  9. Well most people here probably don't even know me anymore, but I'm officially quitting RS. I haven't actually played in awhile, but now that I have free time again, I just don't have any desire to play anymore. When I quit the first couple times, I still occasionally felt the urge to play, but after seeing whats going on nowadays I know that this time its for real. I'd do shoutouts, but the people I know and appreciate, both old and new, you know who you are. Anyway I started a hell of a long time ago. I was in a bunch of crappy clans, tried leading a few, quit a few times, never really found a perfect clan until I came across TH this summer. They were what I had always envisioned in a clan - 90% of the time everybody was ******* around, very fun/mature community, but also was somewhat competitive, overall just a great group of guys. When I stopped playing for college, I finally had found closure. I knew that there was nothing that could ever motivate me to play seriously again. I realized that most of TH felt the same way. I guess we're technically still open, but nobody plays anymore, our pk trips are just small groups of people looking to screw around, and our forums have turned into a hangout. This is how RS was meant to be played. So anyway, I thought I'd let anybody that still cared know that I am done for good. I may browse the forums occasionally, but no more RS. Ever. It's been a fun ride, but I'm ready to move on. -Tim
  10. Suggestion Name: Removal of CW Arena Piece of game content concerned?: Wilderness Brief Description: Remove the physical clan wars arena out of the wilderness since it doesn nothing but take up space. Bring back the old landscape. This has ****** me off for some time now, and my thread on the General Discussion board got a lot of positive feedback.
  11. I think the only clans that will stop doing preps are the kids who take this game way 2 serious and are afraid of actually losing something that is supposed 2 be about fun. Tlp v H we had a fight in Clw dang 10min cap We won but you can ask almost any H member if they had fun or not.. pretty sure they will tell you they did. Preps are just for fun so the only people who would stop prepping would just hurt themselves cause when someone wants to join a clan that is good in the wild and does alot of preps nd minis why would he join a clan tht only did 2preps that month to keep their 2-0 record when he can join a clan who has like a 10-2 record. idk i just see this working out and the clans who stop prepping would eventually just slump into a closure So in other words the majority of clans would close. It's the sad truth but most people in this game only care about who beat who and by how much. Look at the fuss on almost every weekend topic. Preps are for FUN and it should stay that way.
  12. Not sure how much of a serious clan your looking for, but if you want a mature community of 18+ year olds that doesn't take the game seriously at all then check out #the_hatred. I'm not sure who you know but being that we are primarily made up of people who have been playing for 6+ years, you probably know at least someone. Mostly f2p-based although we have recently just started venturing into the world of p2p.
