As Omni said, we've always preferred the previous version of IP.Board, but that version did reach it's "end of life" in July 2010 (source). I've continued to maintain the version myself ever since, which used up much of my free time, but because of upgrades in PHP, MySQL, things becoming deprecated and functions changing it meant the version we were running wasn't working correctly so instead we were forced to upgrade to the latest version. The latest version is far from finalised and we are continuously trying to make it have the same feel as the last version. So with your suggestions, hopefully we can get to a standard where most, if not all, our users are satisfied. Hope this clears things up for you.

Hello everyone, So, the last few days the forums have been acting very strangely. This is mainly because our host had some network issues causing the server to go down which made MySQL go strange and crash. When our host fixed their issues I then went about trying to fix the issues which followed. The server we were on didn't have enough resources to repair the database, which is nearly 1GB in size so that's why I wasn't able to bring the forums back online quickly. I was left with no option but to get a better server since we were only on a Cloud VPS. We're now back on a dedicated server so you should see things running a lot smoother. The dedicated server has Quad Core processor and 16GB RAM so it should be more than enough to accommodate us. Again, sorry about the issues but I didn't have much control over them! On another note, I've also added a few modifications to the forums, such as: - Member Legend - Bump this topic - Members online today If you'd like any other changes please suggest them and I'll do my best. Hello, Apologies but there was an error with the database which meant you couldn't really do anything! This was because the MySQL server crashed and needed repairing. This has now been fixed and no data has been lost. Thanks, Karl

Today sees our latest batch of updates in the ongoing Evolution of Combat: today, dual wielding and two-handed weapons are adjusted for comparable damage output, and magic weapons can be freely wielded cross class - you can even auto-cast a different spell from each hand! We've also made most members skills permanently available to free players up to level 5, as a replacement for our old free trial. Last, but not least, we've made a whole batch of improvements to run energy, meaning slower drain and quicker recovery for everyone. View the full article
