  1. Looking for a medium sized clan that has a great community. I was planning on joining Outrage, but I hardly know anyone in it and it seems too be growing way too fast. Would be nice if the clan had a lot of mini's too. Can be NH or Honor.

  2. Hello, here's a quick and easy guide to learn the tips and basics of how to stake.

Before staking, make sure you at least have a good enough connection so that you can see your opponent before the 3 second timer is out.

    Recommended Inventory:

    110623212743.png

(Multiple Javs/Axes required to range stake, Chaotic Staff can replace the Staff of Light and a Corrupt Statius Hammer can be added.)

    Terms to know before staking:

    MB - Mage Boxing

    RB - Range Boxing

Whipping - Usual melee rules with Special Attacks off

DDSing - Usual melee rules with Special Attacks on

Boxing - Usual melee rules with your weapon slot disabled

PID - Player ID; this determines who will get first hit if both players attack each other at a similar time

Build - Type of staker/what stats someone has. I won't cover that in this topic as it's only meant for pures.

    Mage Boxing:

Mage Boxing is the most common staking method amongst pures. It requires ancient magic to be effective and is the most profitable staking method available. Getting the first hit is helpful, but not as much as other stakes.

    Rules and Gear:

    110623214031.png

For Mage Boxing, pures can flex these rules to stake with staff(Chaotic Staff / Staff of Light / M wand), cape(God Cape), ammy(Arcane Stream), and ring(Seers or Imbued Seers) on. Chaotic Staff, Staff of Light, or a Master Wand can be used. Obstacles, No Movement, and Movement can be used to MBing.

    Technique:

    No Movement:

No Movement MBing is plain and simple, also the most common form of MBing. Start with a Shadow Barrage and keep using them until your opponent hits you. From there it's straight of Blood Barraging.

    Obstacles/Movement:

These types of MB's are all about hugging(freezing your opponent and using the DA walls to make it so they can't hit you) and DD bridding(Standing ontop of the opponent, and hitting your opponent every time the hit wait is up). The trick to this type of MBing is starting with a Ice Barrage and to start hugging. Continue to use Ice Barrage until they catch a freeze on you. From there you should use Blood Barrage until you can get another freeze.

    Examples:

(Vecna can't be used unless pots are on currently)

    Range Boxing:

Range Boxes are the fastest stakes due to the massive damage you do in them. They can be extremely profitable due to the fact that you can stake mains(as shown in the Example).

    Rules and Gear:

    110623220531.png

Movement, Obstacles, and No Movement don't play a huge role in RBing. Morrigan Axes with a Rune or Chaotic Cbow switch(Onyx/Dragon Bolts) should be used in Special Off stakes. Morgan Javelins and Morrigan Throwing Axes are needed for Special On stakes.

    Technique:

    Special On:

Before you start the stake, have a Morrigan's Javelin equipped and have the special on. Spec your opponent once with the javelin and then quickly switch to Morrigan's Throwing Axes. Hit the opponent with a axe special once, and then continue to axe them till someone dies.

    Special Off:

Simply start attacking your opponent with Morrigan's Throwing Axes and finish them off with a Chaotic or Rune Cbow.

    Examples:

    ^Won 20m off me :verymad:

    Melee:

Melee is a complex way to stake that a lot of pures try to stake with, but end up getting steamrolled over because they don't know how to get the first hit. After Rules and Gear, I'll start off with getting the first hit, as it can be applied to all melee stakes.

    Rules and Gear:

    110623214458.png

Movement, Obstacles, and No Movement can be used. For DDSing it's recommended that you buy a Corrupt Vesta Longsword or a Corrupt Statius War Hammer, as well as a DDS obviously. For Whipping, I advise that you have a Chaotic Rapier, Abyssal Whip, or a Corrupt Vesta Longsword/Corrupt Statius War Hammer.

    Technique:

    Getting the First Hit:

Getting the first hit seems simple as you first start staking. Just spam click on the guy, right? WRONG  !

Note: Not legit stakes for the pics lol

    Movement On:

To start, run near the Forfiet Trapdoor.

    110624090052.png

The red circle on the mini map indicates where you should move to when the duel starts. The green circle is the ideal area where your opponent should be(most of the time they're rushing at you, which is why practice is needed to use this technique right).

When the other guy decides to rush you, wait for the moment they're a few squares away from you and then attack them.

    110624090524.png

If you miss the first hit for some reason(bad ping most of the time), there is a final resort that you can go for(doesn't work on people who are somewhat experienced).

Note: While performing this you MUST be getting in every hit possible.

Go to the South/North half of the Arena and then run to the Bottom/Top of the Forfiet Trapdoor. Quickly run to the other side of the trapdoor to trap the opponent. Right as you are able to hit again, attack the opponent. This will only work on people who are newer to staking.

    110624092640.png

    Obstacles:

You will start the duel on either the West or the East side.

For the West side go to this square.

    110624091019.png

As soon as they get a few squares away from you, attack them(same thing as Movement On).

For the East side go to this square.

    110624090955.png

As soon as they get a few squares away from you, attack them(same thing as Movement On).

If you miss the first hit due to lagg/ping issues, simply hug the obstacles until you can get the first hit again. Some stakers like to hug obstacles a lot, but it's easy to defend by simply spam clicking on them(make sure that when they hug to not misclick on another person). I suggest that you don't hug unless you need to get the first hit back.

    No Movement:

The simplest type of melee staking is No Movement. With a good ping(-60) the best idea would be to spam click. If your ping is high(100+) wait for the 1 second mark to attack your opponent. I don't have a lot of experience with No Movement so fill me in =p

    Stand-Offs:

Stand-Offs are relatively rare because most people rush, but they do happen sometimes. These happen when the two people staking both are waiting for the other guy to rush, thus no one is moving and the stake is going no where. From here you can wait it out until the other guy gets bored, rush them( ) or use this technique...

    110624095104.png

Rush them until the black circle. When you reach the black circle(or they start to react and rush you) spam click the red circle that's on the minimap and then use the method as if they were originally rushing you.

    DDSing:

Always start with your DDS on and have the Special Attack on before the duel starts. Unload all of your specs and then finish them off with a Chaotic Rapier/LS, CSWH, or CVLS. Some mains prefer using Enhanced Enchanted Excalibur or Vesta Longsword Specials, but pures should defiantly be using DDS.

If you're 75+ Attack with 70 Magic, you can use a SOL to DDS stake, as well. I wouldn't encourage using a SOL unless you're for sure the other person SOL's or the person your staking is being a massive ****.

    Whipping:

For 80+ Attack pures, Chaotic Rapier + CVLS(or CSWH) switch is a must for staking.

For 69- Attack pures, use a CVLS with a CSWH switch.

For 70-79 Attack pures, still use a CVLS with a CSWH switch.

    Examples:

No really good whip/dds vids i could find. Post if u find please

    Boxing

Boxing is similar to Whip/Rapier staking. Use the same technique as Whip/Rapier staking, but try to switch to Defensive mode while your opponent is attacking you, and Accurate/Agressive during your own hits. The first hit in boxing is important, but not neccesary.

    Examples:

    Tips:

Never stake more than 10% of your bank at one time.

Try not to stake +-5 combat levels from you.

Always stake with SwiftKit, as you can look up people that you're thinking about staking.

Don't listen to people who care about 'running', walk away when you feel like you've won/lost enough.

If you're on a losing streak, don't stake for a bit, and come back to it the next day.

Never get greedy, if your up 20% on someone with the same stats as you, walk away.

    Mini-Gallery

Here are a few of the 'bigger' stakes I've done. I would have a lot more, but most of the staking community is 1 prayer at my combat level, so I can't compete with staker accounts. Only putting 5m+ on here, as I've got over 400+ 1m-4m stakes that aren't worth showing.
