Your right, I wouldn't do it first because my clan is a 1-10 defence clan, with the majority of us being 44 levels away from 45 and having the self respect to play exactly how we want to play. I'm not suggesting anyone does it. It was merely a post to get some brains turning and possibly provide some intelligent discussion outside of the daily "PURE COMMUNITY DEAD!" topics that I can actually imagine you frequenting every time you lose on Runescape to vent some anger.

 

To conclude ; I could care less about how people run their clans and I could care less about the people in them clans. My post was merely the potential start of a discussion beyond the same old crap.

i have fun by being able to successfully kill clans, get their loot and win a fight but i guess that's just my own interpretation of 'fun' on a game, and if to do that means myself and my clan wear our adamant berserker shields to get that loot and win those fights.. then by all means i will wear it.

People forget that this is pure community. If you want defence, go compete against HF or a main clan. OH wait, you're not good enough for that?

Pretty much what Celtic said, I really don't understand why clans such as FOE and to a degree EOP don't just begin accepting 45 defence or whatever the "prime" rune armour and related equipment defence level is.

 

Honestly, the ONLY reason I can see for these clans not changing their defence cap to 45 defence is being afraid of failure. It certainly isn't because they don't want to break their 6 year tradition of being pures because if they were bothered about that they wouldn't have begun accepting turmoil in the first place.

 

Now, if FOE (for example) changed their cap to 45 defence, I can guarantee they'd have FAR more fun, contending with HF and the middle echelon of main clans that pull 30/40 and have sub par leadership / organisation, much more opportunities for fun, and a way out of this dying community. Same with EOP, with the numbers EOP pulls and the organisation they have, they'd make a decent impact on the main scene in f2p if they became 45 defence and pushed the majority of the people to get it/recruited other rune pures and mains.

 

Will they do so? No, will they hell. Because that'd mean hard work, effort, and the possibility of failure lingering over their head and we all know that theres some strange stigma surrounding losing in this community despite it having absolutely no impact on a clan if handled correctly. For this very reason its been the same clans around for years, doing the exact same crap.

 

FOE/EOP and possibly TLP should start to accept 45 defence and slowly phase out the 1-20 defence pures from the clan and replace with 30-45 defence accounts, These clans would then begin to form their own division (along with HF pretty much), fighting each other, fighting HF, and fighting the mid level (in terms of power) main clans and pretty much leave pure clans to their own devices.

 

The pure world gets rebooted, newer 1-20 defense clans such as NME, Relapse, Exiled Force et cetera step up and fill the gaps left by the clans such as FOE/TLP/Fi/EOP leaving the pure world to become mains, the pure community is changed indefinitely and has some sort of progression as opposed to the staleness of the last 5 years. Pure clans are new and exciting again and most importantly, the community benefits and thrives once again.

 

The Tank scene actually becomes a scene as opposed to being only consisting of HF and the various ****** tank clan that springs up now and again. The clans such as FOE who stepped up to the main scene as WELL as the tank scene would make a HUGE impact. Clans such as Crimson Raiders and The Rising would offer decent fights.

 

Everyone wins. But then again, its pretty unlikely any of the clans mentioned have the backbone to actually try something different and make a difference. Oh well, I'm sure they'll just keep doing what they've been doing for the last 6 years and sporadically rear their unintelligent heads to moan about it on PW.

 

Everyone who reads it knows it makes sense, but then again probably about 5% who use this forum and read this post can actually understand a concept deeper than "U MAD R[]FL" so I'm not expecting much intelligent discussion to come out of this post

My First Clan choice was: Lost Pures

Personally I think it's contradicting what most pure clans believe " We play to have fun " If you want to tackle some of this community's bigger problems work on DDoSing, crashing, etc.

 

As a clan that is part of this community, I respect your sacrifice. Good luck.

We dont allow DDoSing, so that problem is fixed, nor hacking, scamming, phishing. Crashing well, thats wat we are working on. Id much rather have a friendly run in, than wait for someone to step out so i can hit them.

FOE too but everyone just runs/hides/makes excuses, no choice but to crash.

Just for conversations sake, forget PW topics, but what if say FOE or some of the other HPCs stopped accepting 1-29 defence and accepted up to 45 defence. What would be the problem with that?

 

FOE allready loves turmoil, by doing they they would make themselves one of the very best clans with a small combat gap that can do allot of damage.

 

Say 80 attack 99 str and turmoil at 30 defence gets you 102 combat, 45 defence gives you 105 combat, and you all know when you reach that sort of level it takes alot to make a big gap in the combat.

 

I personally think it would solve everyones problem, more pure clans for 1-20 defence and the people with higher defence could do work in their own group and more than likely be cunts and **** the lower clans on the weekend, just dont see why they need to bring 70's to do so.

 

Now on this topic i would appreciate it if people wouldnt go straight for 'topics like these wont work' and '30 def isnt pure' I would simply want to see if when you forget current drama you would see this might be a good idea?

If you want to keep playing the way you want to play, that's fine, but being a pure was about putting limitations on yourself.

 

 

@yousiff - I know you're scared. Without addy your trips would be much harder but in the long run, other's will follow. You just have to start the fire.

 

You should be grateful that your in a minority of clans that don't accept addy/mith, it makes you stand out as a clan, and attracts all the nerds who are anti-defence to join you. Infact, I'd say that's the only reason anyone would consider joining your clan; bad trips, average leadership, never wins preps, slumping etc. But hey! they're 1-10 defence so gotta join them!

 

This pure community has a way of completely over exaggerating the bonus's of accepting 30 defence considering pretty much 100% of preps are 1 defence cap, monk robes have advantages over armor in F2P anyway on pk trips, and on p2p trips 30 defence hardly helps at all.

 

Nme needs to get through their thick skulls that we're not all newfags like them, some of us have been around for 5 years + and already have a member base that consists of people with 30 defence, and getting rid of them just isn't realistic: It's not hard to go and open a little low level clan then act all high and mighty to the big boys who are forced to adapt to survive.

I'm not going to respond to the "bad trips avg leadershp etc" part because my members know how untrue that is. I'll just let everyone laugh at you.

 

Over exaggerating the bonuses of accepting 30 defence? Don't give me that ********. In a matched F2P Prep, any clan we fight, starts much more piles because of their defence, and lasts much longer. Not only do they tank longer and live longer, they get to be so much more aggressive in preps.

Don't give me that bullshit. You guys need to get through your thick skulls that you are not forced to adapt to survive. NME has already proved that. We opened as an LPC and gradually moved up the ladder, all with 1-10 defence requirements. Since Late August, our main competition has ALL been adamant, and guess what? We're still here. We're stilling have trips, and still killing clans.

I don't care how long you've been around because that is irrelevant. The fact of the matter is you do not have to adapt to survive. Instead of looking what your opponents have over you, did you ever look at yourselves? Why not try to improve your pulls & performance before just jumping onto addy.

 

You are not good and you never will be because you, like most of the clans today, are hell bent on trying to get another advantage over each other rather than improving your quality.

 

If us "newfags" (lol) can do it, why can't the big boys who've been around for 5 years?
