  1. Jagex comes out with some kind of update causing half of the pure clans to give up before releasing another 6 months later to try and compensate for the terrible update.

    In no particular order:

    MM - top 3

    FOE - top 3

    Fi - top 5

    E - top 5

    CP - remain open

    DP - close

    M - close

    IR - remain open

TLP - I'd like to see in top 5

DV - no clue, remain open

C - no clue, remain open

a bunch of small, unsuccesful clans will open and close in the mean time with a handful of which making in to the top rankings, if only for a week.

  2. No I did not say that, I dont know why Cy closed, Im saying that people lose interest when clans start to go down hill and dont come to trips thats what is called a "Slump". Im not saying that people dont try to rebuild which people do, and which clans like FI are doing. Thank you :). In fact I dont see where you got the impression that, thats what I was saying..

Perhaps the part where you said

"CY wasint doing that great so alot of members didint have fun at trips/didint go"

lead me to believe that you were implying that is why they closed. I really couldn't tell what you were trying to say, your entire post seemed like a poorly written rant.

  3. First of all not only did we peak last saturday with 71, but we have been pulling consistnatly 55-60+ for the last month, Even before Cy CLOSED we had been pulling quite well. Now you can say Calamity effect ect, but I'm going to be honest, CY wasint doing that great so alot of members didint have fun at trips/didint go. Since DP is doing quite well Members are going to stay active and continue to go to trips and we will continue to grow, BECAUSE THERE HAVING FUN; Thats just how it works. Also DP is not Calamity, we had differint rules and were a differint clan, and members are going to be differint in DP then in CY. So pretty much, you cant keep saying that were going to die off fast ect, becuase at this point your kind of just going to have to face that DP might continue to grow and become a contender for E and perhaps EVENTULLY foe and mm.

In conclusion, people are going to stay active because we are doing well and its fun for them, thats how it works for everyclan. Dp could do badly, Mm could do badly. Look at foe they were doing great until they started losing and now are doing badly. Honest outlook. Likelyhood is that DP can continue to do great.

So you're saying that Calamity closed because when it started to go downhill and people lost interest instead of trying to improve the clan and the clan you are a member of has happily accepted all of those people? I feel sorry for them. For your clan, I pity you.

  4. There might not be "Flaws" in the script but it's innacurate due to people having their ALOG on private and I might be wrong on this one but ALOG is for P2P users only? Therefore F2P Based clan get a disadvantage with it right?

Nonetheless, as I said earlier, it's an extremely nice script. Nice work to Nick & Runekas.

Yes, there are flaws. There will always be flaws. The script does its purpose effectively, however.

It was, after all, made in order to show a comparison in how many kills each clan makes on other clans and to provide, automatically updating, evidence that Mayhem Makers are better — Correct me if I'm wrong.

The only real things which make this 'inaccurate' in any way is that the logs are for members only - this would actually give those clans with more p2p users than f2p users an advantage over other clans and as the clans this was originally focused on comparing have 90% p2p members I don't see the issue here. It will record the kills of a p2p user in both p2p and f2p, however it will not record the deaths of that user in f2p (if he dies to someone who is a f2p user, of course in both scenario's he is dying to someone of an opposing clan).

The other, possible, issue is the ability for people to make their log private. Why would anyone do this? So people can't see the quests they haven't done? So people can't see their exact levels?

    ---

    Currently, looks like FOE members are dying quite easily;

    Side note(s):

I noticed that Malice's has not been updated to include Carnage and Destructive Pures. it would be nice if this was done (More or less Destructive Pures as Carnage are p2p based and I don't think Malice do much of that at the moment)

edit: When/If the A.LOG becomes f2p, I suggest a recording of the standings and a reset so that they may be done slightly more accurately. It would be interesting and people wouldn't have to filter out information from 'before the update'.

(I haven't seen your code, doesn't bother me if I see it or not. My question is simple: Is there any way to record data between two set dates? example: over a weekend.)

Another suggestion, which may be implemented to these (though would take a bit of effort and would be tedious) would be including a clans average Kill / Death ratio. a constant calculation of all kills by that clan added up divided by the amount of times it has been recorded that a member from one of the other clans has killed a member of that clan.

Example, using clan initials in the form of ClanX-ClanY meaning ClanX killed ClanY and "KDR" is the ratio.

    Clan X

    X-Y: 30

    X-Z: 20

    KDR: (X-Y+X-Z)/(Y-X+Z-X) = (30+20)/(20+10) = 50/30 = 5/3 = 1.66`

    Clan Y

    Y-X: 20

    Y-Z: 10

    KDR: (Y-X+Y-Z)/(X-Y+Z-Y) = (20+10)/(30+20) = 30/50 = 3/5 = 0.6

    Clan Z

    Z-X: 10

    Z-Y: 20

    KDR: (Z-X+Z-Y)/(X-Z+Y-Z) = (10+20/20+10) = 30/30 = 1/1 = 1.0

[As much as I would like to see the above system implemented, I believe it would simply be too tedious and not worth the effort, it's simply an observation and example of what can be done with these kinds of things].

edit 2: Oh god, another edit! Putting thought to it, it seems that a complication with doing the above would be what if a clan changes their memberlist (for any reason, hacking, moving it, etc.) From what I can 'see' of this from the aesthetics is that the only viable solution would be to change the memberlist entry in every occurance of that clan. I'm not sure how you've done the code - I can only hope that you've done it right and made the memberlists a variable declared at the very beginning for such occurances.

  5. I really do love how a clan list turns into a clan discussion thread and then into a discussion about individuals thread. Sigh.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion — they are not entitled, however, to force that opinion on others.

If you are going to post that someone's list is 'wrong' (even though it is simply their opinion) why not try to post some evidence to back yourself up or even, at the very least, do it in a mature manner and not directly attack another clan / individual?

  6. I wonder what definition you are applying to the word 'abstract'.

May I apply the definition, "existing only in the mind; separated from embodiment," and give you a pile of nothing?

(I might work on one, if I can figure out what abstract is)

  7. I see one common trend on this topic.

    1. E loses a fight.

    2. E sends there loads of no namers to go flame the clan who beat them.

    3. The clan who won provides evidence they won.

    4. E makes up some excuse why they lost.

    5. Then E keeps at the flaming long after the other clan has stoped.

I see a different trend. One more along the lines of

    1. A user posts their opinion of, current, clan rankings OR a prediction of what the rankings will be after a certain date
    2. A second user quote them and try to convince the first user that their opinion is wrong and what they should change it to.
    3. Another user quotes the second user, usually from the same clan as one of the prior users, and includes their argument as to why the opinion should be changed.

    Repeat.
