Aggressive=/=Defensive.

TL;DR Version:

Spoiler:
When switching from a melee weapon with four attack styles, using the third* (accurate, aggressive, aggressive*, and defensive) to a staff with three attack styles (accurate, aggressive, and defensive) your attack style is wrongly changed to defensive upon wielding the staff, and upon switching back to your melee weapon (also defensive).

I'll begin this by relating to you an experience I had about two hours ago (and also months ago). My slayer master's Vannaka, and he assigned to me Other Wordly Beings. I'm killing them with a leaf-bladed sword on SLASH (aggressive, the third attack style if counting right to left). So, cut to me killing them, and one drops a ruby ring. Having a fire staff and cosmic runes handy, I enchant it and alch it. Back to finishing this task, right?

Well, I of course revert back to my leaf-bladed sword, and to my astonishment, it was no longer on aggressive, but rather it was on defensive! I unfortunately raised my defense level to three.

As someone particular about their skill levels, I'm especially upset about this.

So, I feel a little tweaking/bug fixing needs to be done in this area of the game. When switching from a weapon whose third attack style (usually aggressive, if not always) you're using to a staff, your attack style while equipping the staff is strangely defensive, when it should be aggressive. That's it, it's that simple. Simply update it so that when switching to staves, your attack style doesn't change.

To those unaware, we're talking potentially hours of training the wrong skill, perhaps gaining unwanted levels as well. In the case of people like me, so called 'pures' (I consider myself a kind one (I know they have a bad rap)), this greatly impacts our accounts due to the fact that defense is great at raising combat, uselessly for us.

The bottom line is, this is clearly something in need of fixing. Forget your hatred of, say, pures; this affects all of us. Some more than others.

Thank you if you've read this far. Post and show your support.

Let me explain what happened,

You were on aggressive mode, then switched to your staff to defensive mode. Then when you switched back to your blade, it was on defensive mode because the game thought that you were training defense from your previous weapon which was your staff on the defensive style.
