  1. Not tolerating this ******** about DDoSing and so far. It makes me sick in the gut - but it's just too hard to prove somebody as the culprit, even if the individual admits to it.

I'm sorry I can't do anything about it, and I sincerely apologize about all this DDoSing/Doxing ********. But enough is enough.

    Congratz Fi on your win.

    Keep the topic civil ladies.

  2. Erm.

I really don't like all this negativity, I think the combat beta is definitely JaGex needed to do - because as of thus, the game is stale, there's no new influx of new players, there's no longevity.

The game needed a refreshing change - it needed a different vibe. Gamers of this generation are looking for that "more complex" and "more interactive" battle system.

OT: I don't think JaGex will lose that much money in the overhaul. Atm PvM is okay on a Pure, but PvP is a bit stupid with all this one shotting.

I do sincerely hope they will make tweaks to at least give the Pure community a reason to stay.

so why are they making the combat system something generic and over used, and making it easier and slower? makes no sense :P

Because something that generic and overused is successful. If you're making money off a business (hey isn't that generic and overly run too?) then why not.

    Easier and slower...? That's opinionated.

  3. Real life/other games whilst keeping up with community I met on RS/these forums.

2006 is extremely unstable, I do not suggest it - One of the leaders rage quit because they refused to put a key logger in the file. So nty.

    Battlescape is =...=;

I just don't have enough time to put into yet ANOTHER MMO - And I'm sure a lot of us can say the same thing.

Realistically though, I think clans are going to adapt/go main- or just move on. The beta has been out for about .... a full day, there's still many things to explore and test out with the new battle system. Who knows? Maybe pures will find a niche to thrive and have fun in. We don't know yet.

  4. As of thus.

Pures in PvM is actually a lot more fun. It's interactive, and no longer a snorefest.

The problem with PURE vs. PURE though, is that it's all just 1 shotting - whoever catches somebody off guard wins.

In all honesty fighting against mains... I don't see myself at a disadvantage... but that's just after a few fights. It's literally the first day and people are jumping the gun making rash conclusions.

We still have time to figure things out and JaGex has still yet to tweak the system. It's called BETA for a reason, go try it out when you guys can. People QQ and whine about change - But this change for RS is necessary, the player base is stagnant and aging, the combat is redundant and stale. HOPEFULLY, this update will bring in more players.

Like seriously, the beta is only A FEW HOURS IN, and people are complaining.

The beta is out until SEPTEMBER.

Everything you say is correct, but don't you think it's strange that there was an obvious build up against pures? The Wilderness/Free trade update in 07 certainly crippled the pure community more than the main clans, who could use their more multi-dimensional accounts for different clanning events. Then with the updates for turmoil and hand cannnon led the pure community into the direction of 30 defence, with minor updates such as climbing boots making a lil inconvenience. Jagex have effectively cleansed their community of pures until such a small population remained that they could get rid of pures in general.

    Genocide!?!?!?!?!

JaGex was always Pro-Defense. They have literally always taken that stance - This overhaul is basically just trying to make the combat progression linear - so a basic newbie will get "into the game" so to speak.

I think this is completely the right path - When was the last time we all saw a typical "newb" in full mith/black pieces of armor in lumbridge skilling? Never in the past 5 years.

The game is just recycled players, and hardly any new ones - As an "easy to access browser game" Runescape simply needs a new generation. With our current player base being ages 18+ [in most cases - even 22+ sometimes].

Don't get me wrong; I'm extremely disappointed that pures will probably be pointless in terms of PvP. The update is bound to get a lot of negativity, and a lot of hate like when RS2 was released. It's a common reaction to any expansion/patches/updates/changes in a game.

I do hope that "clan warring" will thrive and eventually find new and more thrilling ways to battle it out - You look at all the work and sick graphical updates JaGex put into this update, I really hope it turns out for the better.

At the end of the day - the game is just stale. We have until September to see what's up.

I disagree in that I think the Veterans were the foundation of the game. They knew all the mechanics and what to do and were there for new players that needed guidance. They were also the most experience in account builds, questing, etc. A new player today will have a harder time getting used to what an older player had to go through.

And that is the absolute minimum they will lose assuming 2% of the pures from a 1 week average player perspective unsubscribe. You're probably right about the loss, but only time will tell how much. I unsubscribed in March, so.

I'm not understating the value of the community foundation.

I'm simply saying that the game has no new blood, hence no longevity, or generation of interest.

The beta has been out a few hours - people need to get over themselves.

  8. Lol knowing Jagex.

The 2% is so skewed and depicted wrongly.

2% of total current accounts? (~195m according to Jagex front page?) - I doubt it. (Pures) - which is subjective in meaning also; because let's not forget he might mean "1 def only accounts with offensive stats" [so not including turm pures and such].

Even then, 2% is a long shot.

I would hope they'd at least try to clarify some statistics before spewing **** outta their asses like that.

Pures have always been apart of the game. I haven't played the beta yet, and I intend to try it out - But if Jagex does decide to give pures the shaft. Then not only would it be beyond the magnitude of incomprehensible retardation on their part - But in turn it would hugely effect newcomers, the economy, etc.
