Hey guys, i feel i should warn you before you read my post here that this might offend some people. But that's ok. It's only the internet. So i started playing runescape again for the first time in a couple years. I used to play in 05, then quit when wildy was removed a few years later. But i'm back and enjoying everything and trying to learn about all the new items and skills that have be added to the game. While looking on PW and just playing the game in general, i've found that a new trend has occurred in the world of pking. Apparently they call themselves turmoil pures. At first i laughed and said ok so they are like zerker "pures" and barrow "pures", they just tack the name pure onto their account to show that they are actual pkers that belong in the wild and their stats reflect a certain purpose. But after delving further i am sad to say that people actually think they are still pures and a large number of old "pure" clans now accept them. As i explored more, i found that these clans and players actually pit themselves against actual old school pures who are 1 def and 52- prayer. Do these players actually still believe they are members of the pure community? Are you kidding me? Do you see your stats, 35 defence and 95 prayer? These turmoil pures end up having 100+ combat easily and have no problem wearing full addy to f2p events. I'm not going to name clan names simply because... almost all of them do accept these players. But am i the only one who sees something really wrong with this? Pures were born really with 1 purpose in mind. To deal a ton of damage at a low level. Then hybrids spawned and you could use multiple combat styles at low combat. Now i see these clans with average combats of something like 98, that call themselves pure clans. This is ridiculous. In the older days, a range tank or zerker pure would max out at under 100 combat. And did they go pking with mayhem makers or foe? absolutely not, that would have been a disgrace. But 39 defence is ok right? People are going to make the argument that yes pures were designed to have low combats by utilizing low prayer and defence, but these turmoil pures do the same thing, they deal tons of damage but it requires a few extra stats. And i would counter with, well thats what a zerker pure used to be. You get 45 defence so you can use things like torso and zerker helm to boost your max somewhat. Bottom line i think there is something wrong with lv 110's with 30 something more defence levels and at least 40 prayer lvs higher than real pures. I don't have a problem with players who enjoy this style of pking, i have a problem with them being compared to real pure clans like Mayhem Makers or NME, who don't accept these requirements. When a lv 110 kills a maxed lv 82 pure, its not a surprise or an accomplishment. But maybe i'm wrong and i'd like to hear what everyone in the community thinks about these changes in pure clans (i know i'm late to this sorry).

Took the words right out of my mouth :). Also, towards the end, the one of the pkers teles at lv 23 wild with what i assume was a glory. Does glory have a level 30 wild limit?

you've never been a p2p pure before? that's odd. Well i can speak from my experiences both from '05 and '06 to now and i can tell you, (my current account is 50 attk 13 prayer mauler) that prayer is almost a necessity now. I'm talking 45 or 52. If you have any plans to join a clan, you will need overheads almost certainly. And if you like to solo pk, like me, you'll find that nearly every pker now is a rusher/pjer, and having 13 prayer is extremely frustrating. And if you try and hybrid, other hybrids have protect prayers and its a big fail. Here's my recommendation. Get 50 attk and 13 prayer first. IMPORTANT, do monkey madness if you can because the 2 req quests will give 20k attk xp or so. If you want addy gloves and i assume you do, you need to do MM before you get 50 attk or you'll be stuck with mith like me. If you don't enjoy 13 prayer you can change it to 45 or 52 as you see fit. Then if you don't enjoy that anymore i'd suggest 60 attk and so. Edit: as for the 800k tokens which i am jealous of btw, that's easy. Get a chaotic staff, arcane stream necklace, and chaotic crossbow.

It generally describes a player who does NOT bring any mage equipment usually because they haven't done DT or are not 94 magic. These players sometimes have a bad rep because a lot of them simply sw or range guild to 90+ range and then run around pumpin the crossbow randomly. Melee is sometimes thrown in, like a DDS or D scim.

Everyone has pet peeves; like when people walk on your fight or they follow you asking to fight when ur in the middle of a fight and they still don't realize they should step back. If it bothers you just turn public off. People say GF all the time when they don't even get the kill. it's just '10/'11 pkers being cocky.

when you go pking, at least back in 05/06, you never knew what you would find. it was new and exciting and refreshing everytime i spent an hour in varrock buying enough supplies and scrapping just enough to go out and pk. Throw in a couple of close friends and it's a blast. Or am i wrong?
