Asomugha: Eagles Aren't 'The Dream Team'

16th August, 2011 - 4:39 pm

Yahoo! Sports - Eagles cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha isn't buying into the belief that he's now playing for a super team.

"We're absolutely not 'The Dream Team,' but we are good, and this team could be pretty special," Asomugha said.

"If you want to talk about the real Dream Team from the '92 Olympics, you'd want that [label]. But you don't want [to be associated with] what happened recently."

Eagles backup quarterback Vince Young first bestowed the "Dream Team" label on this year's Philadelphia team

They're really not. They're good on paper, but all they really did was improve strengths not their weaknesses. They're going to be good but they're definitely beatable.

It will be interesting to see him play with a higher caliber team, compared to the raiders at least.

They are beatable but really a strong team.

Stacked at wideouts

Stacked at corners

Arguably the #1 offensive team... they have 3 wideouts who are starter caliber a good running back and an amazing QB. You might be worried about the offensive line but Vick is the QB so that really won't be much of a problem with his speed.

Can pretty much shut down any passing game due to the NFL becoming a passing league instead of the shut down defence and ground and pound.

Except their linebackers are mediocre which is a huge part of the defense. I don't see them getting a lot of deep balls thrown at them, but you'll be able to pass on mid and short routes for sure, which the NFL pretty much is now.
