  1. Looks so **** tbh, looks like it's back to RuneScape Classic graphics.

Um, ok. In RSC you couldn't even differentiate between types of weapons. A longsword looked exactly like a 2H sword, a shortsword and a dagger.

I think it looks better. I'm interested to see what the longsword looks like when it's actually being held though.

  2. Damnation is the start of your morality, destruction is its purpose, means and end. Your code begins by damning man as evil, then demands that he practice a good which it defines as impossible for him to practice. It demands, as his first proof of virtue, that he accept his own depravity without proof. It demands that he start, not with a standard of value, but with a standard of evil, which is himself, by means of which he is then to define the good: the good is that which he is not.

It does not matter who then becomes the profiteer on his renounced glory and tormented soul, a mystic God with some incomprehensible design or any passer-by whose rotting sores are held as some inexplicable claim upon him -- it does not matter, the good is not for him to understand, his duty is to crawl through years of penance, atoning for the guilt of his existence to any stray collector of unintelligible debts, his only concept of a value is zero: the good is that which is non-man.

This passage by Ayn Rand sums up my feelings upon religion. Do not be mistaken, I indeed believe in God. However, my beliefs are my own and not those associated with a religion. They do good upon the world, but just as much bad comes from it.

  3. I believe abortion is the right thing to do if you arent ready for a kid. To be honest, This is a hard one to answer to. Your kind of taking someone's life away. Some people it depends on what stage they are at, But what does it matter? It's still a living thing. But still, If your a teenager it might be better not to have it, becasue you wouldnt be able to take care of it as well as you would when your older.

Then take responsibility for your actions and give the child up for adoption. A friend of mine got pregnant after having sex with her boyfriend only once. She made a mistake, but she did the right thing and went through with the pregnancy and gave the child up for adoption. I truly believe it has made her a better person. For one, she has learned to distinguish love from lust, and it will save her from numerous heartaches down the road. She has also learned the importance of getting a good education. Before her pregnancy she had no real goal in life and was getting relatively poor grades in school, and now she wishes to become a nurse and has attacked her schoolwork with a determination and fervor that I envy greatly. Perhaps more importantly, she gave a child a chance to live, and chance to decide what he wants to do with his life. True choice.

  4. OK, on other forums I've made really nice looking topics and all that crap but I'm not going to bother with that here, I'll just give you the facts straight up. Just let it be known that this game will not be for the casual crowd, it is for those niche gamers who feel like there is something missing from today's themepark games and who prefer to walk on the razor's edge. The game is currently in it's Beta stage and the launch is scheduled loosely for Quarter 4 of this year. The NDA (non-disclosure agreement) is still in effect so I am not allowed to tell you anything about the Beta yet. Please read the post and check out the website if you like what you read.

    Website: http://www.mortalonline.com

    Developer: Star Vault

Game Engine: Unreal 3.5 (designed specifically for MMOs)

    Features:

    • Open PVP (no safe zones, no restrictions)
    • Full loot
    • 100% first person view
    • Real time combat where player skill matters (Similar to TES4: Oblivion but more advanced. Think 10+ hitboxes.)
    • Realistic mounted combat (with both melee, ranged attacks and magic) and no pocketable mounts.
    • Hundreds of skills and secondary skills, including stealing from other players and taming of beasts
    • Enormous crafting system with a confirmed 240 million possible melee weapon combinations.
    • Large seamless gameworld with no instances. 10,000+ players on a server which holds a continent approximatly 64km^2 in size. 5 more continents of similar size are planned for the future.
    • PVE that's actually challenging. (For example, a troll will actually pick you up and bite your head off if given the chance). To make it even more challenging, the Developers can actually take control of any NPC and fight you without you knowing it.
    • One time "epic" creatures or events which could change the game itself and very well put you in the history books.
    • Build your own house anywhere in the game. Build up an entire city with your guild to control the countryside. Spend large amounts of resources to build siege engines and attempt to destroy enemy cities.
    • Religion system. Establish your own religion, gain followers and worship to your god. (For example, constantly praying to your god to change the flow of a river into an enemy's city may very well result in that action with enough supporters).
    • No hovering names over a person's head unless your cursor is actually ON a character.
    • No Dev made quests with canned dialogue and cheesy exclamation points over the heads of NPCs.
    • No minimap, compass or any of that crap cluttering the screen. Use the star/sun cycles and landmarks to navigate unless you create your own custom map or compass ingame.
    • Localized banking. No dropping off your suit of armor at the bank and picking it up again on the other side of the world. Pack animals, caravans and unequal distribution of resources result in real trading.
    • Developers who actually care about their game. They talk on the forum and IRC with us all the time because first and foremost, they are gamers. They care about our opinions and they care greatly about making an excellent game -- money is only a side bonus. Just the other day several of the Developers worked for 48 hours straight so they could get their Beta launch running.
    • Full nudity.

I'm getting a bit tired so I might have left something out, I'll update it if I think of something.

  5. They should have made it a longer movie. Even another half hour could have made a huge difference. It was a nice movie visually and I think they pulled off the awkward relationships quite well, but it differed way too much from the book:

    • The wheat field scene with the Weasleys' house burning down never actually happened. What the hell was that scene added for when there was so much other important stuff left out?
    • Where was the action? The Order of the Phoenix was supposed to be stationed at Hogwarts while Dumbledore and Harry were away and they were supposed to fight against the Death Eaters. Bill was even supposed to get bit and become sort of a "half werewolf."
    • While on the subject of Bill... Where the hell were Bill and Fleur in the movie? They're supposed to get married at the Weasleys' house in the next movie... Oh wait! The house burned down!
    • No funeral for Dumbledore? Not even a shot of his tomb? Come on!

They could have done a lot better, I was really quite disappointed.

  6. Go to Japan then.

That's an incredibly naive statement. Most Japanese brand cars that we drive in the United States are made in US factories by non-union workers... and they're successful. The unions are sucking the American brand automotive companies dry. They get paid ridiculous salaries with unheard of benefits for doing simple, unskilled labor jobs on an assembly line.

This is the contract between Ford and the UAW:

See anything wrong with that? I do. It's twice the size of the ******* Coke can.

    -----------

Anyway, for the sake of all that is good and capitalism, let the failing companies die. Other companies that are successful will move in to fill the niche and the world will keep turning. And I will be able to keep more of my own money.

  7. Mine clay. It's so easy and low experience you could hardly call it raising a skill and it's become ridiculously overpriced because people are either too lazy or find it below themselves to go mine it.

  8. Yes. The main title is "Erden Tribe" with the navigation being "Home" "Lore" "Gallery" "Apply" "Forum."

We probably won't even use it because we've got a member making an interactive flash website, but I thought it'd be fun anyway.

  9. A while ago while banging my head incessantly against the wall out of boredom I had an epiphany: making a website template for my guild (for another game) would be a much more satisfying use of time and would result in a lot less long term brain functionality issues.

Yes, I made the spear out of a fence post.
