I like this a lot, the focal really stands out and emanates presence. I personally think there are minimal effects that collaborate effectively together. Only negative I'd like to point out is text placement/font. In saying that, however, by looking at it I can't see a better place to put that style of text. Maybe better left without? Iunno.
