HTML + Javascript

Recommended Posts

I'm taking a class next semester called 'CGI and the server-sided web'. A requirement is some experience with HTML and Javascript. I have dabbled in both but no concrete experience. Does anyone know of a great site to learn these languages with tuts or videos? I did google tutorials and I'll be using those but I was just wondering if there is a site that explains it easily.

just reading about either isn't very fun... If I were you, I would actually try to get real coding experience. Either start a basic website from scratch, make a browser add-on, or try to reverse existing javascript to do what you want. I remember when I first wanted to learn javascript, I found some online game and made a broswer add-on that basically played the game for me using javascript. Doing that made learning both fun and fast, since I needed to learn a lot to do what I wanted to do.

Two of the most important things to make you good at it is (1) reading code, and (2) writing code. The more time you spend doing either of those, the better you get at it.. its that simple.
