The server was being hit by a hugely excessive amount of connections(~15,000), possibly a DDOS attack. I couldn't do anything to prevent this, couldn't access the control panel, SSH, or anything. So I had to contact my host.

My host have now put up Cisco Guard, if you don't know what this is, research it. It we do not get anymore attacks for 24 hours they'll remove it, then if it happens again they'll put it back up. This should prevent the server going offline again.

The host is currently compiling a report of the attack which I will look over and take the necessary action against the culprit(s).

I apologise for any inconvenience caused.
