Is dat a joke? I've got over 60 filters on this lmfao. Hey! I don't know anything about gfx. No matter how many filters you got Mikey, sometimes it doesn't effect the bland look to some pieces, though I think this one is pretty good but could be a bit wider - looks like an avatar :D

Blending can do wonders when working with C4Ds - try using gradients around the same color as either the stock or the C4D, and copy, paste and set the copied C4D over the stock on lighten and erase anything that plays with the focal point. For a first time with C4Ds, this is truly brilliant. Don't get discouraged by posts that will probably fly in here below mine, your doing great :thumbsup: Just keep practicing and you'll have C4Ds in the bag. (Also, typography of this is pretty sketchy o.O, I love the colors though.)
