  1. 1 Def. 1 Prayer. No teles. Sticking to the roots of a pure. Definitely going to skill and take advantage of the economy.
  2. I see too many pures tele'ing at level 1-5, and using the Ring of Life. Like wtf.
  3. Need F2P PK servers. The game would also see an explosion in numbers if it became accessible to F2P in some form. I think an actual F2P component of Old Scape will be needed to keep it alive after 6-12 months. But yea...F2P > P2P.
  4. How many clans is that Zam??? guy going to keep making. TH. FI. Bleh. Where are the friends I had in AAO and PA at!
  5. Yea, was going to re-open PA back then, but ultimately it was a bad idea - especially if 30 Defense is the new 1 Defense. Game has changed far too much. Was just wanting to reconnect. I'll probably be posting another one of these in like a year anyways, lol. I saw Omni posting about. I'm in contact now with Legacy, Doc, and pknarrow via FB. Good times there. Fr0ze, Seb, where are thou? lol. Good times.
  6. Hello. I'm from the 06 - 08 era of RS. I'm just posting this to see if any old friends are still kicking around (Omni? TIA? Jayhawk? PKNArrow? Seb? Diablo? Legacy...etc). Would be cool to talk to some old PA cows again. Also, would like to know what has transpired in the 'pure world' in the past year and a half. Basic summaries are good. Just curious. So hi. :)
  7. I want IR, AAO & TGG back. Just so we can wreck them at 5vs5s and 10vs10s all day long with our -10 defense stats and amour. Sup Zell, Zo, Zom, Hell/Junior, Shroom, Jest, Eeb, P0ke...etc. :)
  8. There will be more pure teams than pure clans. Pure clans are a minority to pure teams. Good topic.
  9. How many clans in total did he lead per week?
  10. PA isn't officially re-opened, yet. We're just all getting together in IRC and discussing this entire fiasco. I mean, odds are good we will re-open but it isn't like we're planning pk trip times and doing inactive sweeps.
  11. IcoolstoneI, Newbbeme & I @ Castle/Edge = Good times.
  12. The whole H vs NH is actually going to have substance again and the H vs NH will be back and will embed itself in the clans we see re-open or the clans that are still around. The honour vs non-honour thing has a few selling features that forces it to become something every single clan considers. It establishes itself because of these reasons: 1. If teams can say that another team is 'noob', or is not as good as this team because they do 'this or 'that', then the H vs NH system will instantly be there. This and that can be teleing or protecting. Both of these are highly noticeable and most old pkers and even new ones HATE teams who do tele or prot. Because we get mad @ people who do tele/prot or do something 'noob', we're going to view it as a negative and we're going to consider it when we rank clans against each other. If I take FoE & MM and I have to choose who is number 1. They're both exactly the same in terms of numbers, skill & organization. The only deciding factor is that MM has 3-5 more people protecting their items. Or FoE has been caught with having being tele in 1vs1s or in clan trips. Whichever way it goes, you're going to be able to rank clans based on if they tele or not. And from this we get a list of things that are 'okay' to do, that make you honour and then we get a list of 'no, don't do these things', that make you non-honour. It may take a month or two, but it'll be extremely noticeable to see how the new honour system gains popularity and is the basis for flame wars. 2. Everyone likes to flame/insult for one reason or another. A H vs NH system that basically makes it 'acceptable' to insult/bash/flame another team is going to be used. I can't remember how many teams got topics made about one or two of their members protecting or teleing in 1vs1's @ edge and thus losing their reputation and eventually just closing. 3. For clans, 3 extra spaces of food or even just one more space for anything that offers more bonuses than a shark/pot, is invaluable. Clans are only as good as their weakest link. If teams allow their members to tele, all of them will be down by 3 food in F2P. In P2P they'll be down by a pot, food or some item will be used instead of another item that could make the deciding KO on any important kill in a war/run-in. It is counter-intuitive to allow your members to use teles. It is going to hurt your team/clan's performance more than you can realize. And from this teams will tell all of their members to not tele in any of their PK activities. Whether they're luring or 1vs1ing, they just won't be allowed to. And from this the H vs NH will mature over time. 4. Everyone wants to belong to 'something' And if they can belong to 'Honour' and make easy friends from just not teleing or protecting, they will. Even if it was hugely disadvantageous to them to do so, they will simply just to belong to something everyone else belongs to. However, it isn't disadvantageous. Not using protect is going to gain you anywhere from another second or 10 seconds of prayer. This is a lot of time in a 1vs1 and is invaluable in a war. Using teles, you have 3 less food to stay longer and try and get a KO. 5. It is stupid to tele or protect in the long-term for 1vs1s or wars. It may seem like it works in your favour and it'll save you GP, but it doesn't. Majority of my kills are from having 2 food left and chasing a guy down through Edge who just ran out of food and doesn't realize if he had kept 3 more food instead of a tele, he would be the one chasing me. Even if it is just 1 food slot or 1 item slot, the concept is the same and it is never negligible. -- Summary: For both practical reasons and methodical reasons teleing, protecting and other tactics will always form the H vs NH system.
  13. W2 Fally was the best. Also, it will be easier to find food/gear for lower prices in W2 than with the GE. However, the kids that merchant aren't going to budge on their thousands of stock. You gotta find the kids who fished or made their own materials and just want to get rid of the junk. I remember runes being southwest of the bank, potions being northwest of the bank, armour in the park. I don't remember where food was sold. I remember mining/smithing stuff was sold to the west. Prayer book pages & TT rewards were sold above potions. So much fun.
  14. Train woodcutting. With the bank in Lumbridge now, woodcutting is all you need to return fast. Or in P2P, you have ancients or like the switch to use. Why the wondering? Returning really hasn't gotten faster, but it has gotten easier. Taking all of BH/FoG/CW out isn't going to slow down the rate at which you can return.
  15. If the Wilderness is put back in this game as it was pre 2007, you'll see Pure Annihilation back. Good luck to anyone who thinks they'll be able to beat us 20vs20 or less. We'll always be looking for 5vs5s or 10vs10s @ maze. Get at us. --- A lot of people are missing the negative aspects of the Wilderness. All of the things a lot of us started to hate. Teleing at hills or lower, protecting, spies, crashing, roaming for an hour without finding anyone, no one being on, getting juked by mains at hills or gdz...etc. Major thing for me is the roaming around worlds, hopping after hopping, not being able to find anyone...at all. Wasting an hour or so because all of these new teams decide to try out W52 or W70 or some random world and then everyone gets spread out between 30 worlds and you can't find anything. Still, if they keep teleblock F2P, that'll solve half of the issue at hills or lower. I hope we pures can organize ourselves to dedicate 1 or 2 worlds that we will at least 'check' before we go to other worlds. By check I mean check gdz/hills at least every hour. If not, the mid-tier clans are going to be butthurt by mains and top-tier pure clans. I am kind of wishing they limit the wildy to just 30 worlds for F2P & 30 for P2P. We don't need 100 worlds for F2P and 100 worlds for P2P. Way too spread out tbh. Even reducing the size of the wilderness would make it better. Still, I don't mind if anything is fixed or not, as long as we get it back. ----- All of the 2008, 2009, 2010 newbpures are going to cry and quit in the first 2 months of the wilderness coming back. Guaranteed. They're not going to understand that the majority of the time you're going to lose a lot of your crap from being crashed by mains 4-8 times a trip/war. They're not going to be able to take a loss or be able to risk their items and not get emotionally scarred over it. Going to be lulz.
  16. No one went to all of the worlds. The common PK worlds being W1, W3, W4, W5, W13, W17, W32, and a few others were the main PK worlds. Mains would completely dominate on W1, W3 and W17. If you didn't have 30+ people, you were going to get rocked on those worlds. W3, W4, W5 were the more common worlds for pures to use, to find other pures. W32 was a mix between everything. World 3 was the most popular PK world anyways. It always had pures or mains at any of the spots like hills, castle, edge, varr, gdz or maze. World 1, I honestly have no idea why the mains used it so much, but it was hard not to get wrecked by mains on W1 or by clans with 100+ people. There was also spies in the old times. The entire 'Honour vs No Honour' had strong influences on who was spying and who wasn't. Pretty much the top 4 teams had so many spies in each other, it was hard to tell who was who at times. It was a clusterbash almost every single time there was a trip. For pures who kept their numbers below 20, it was also just as chaotic getting run-ins at hills or north of hills. You have 5-7 worlds that everyone uses. Pures & mains alike. Then you have only Hills & gdz for teams with 20+ people. It was very concentrated. Also, people would go to rune rocks but that was such a bloody waste of time in my opinion. ---- @Boomer: It benefits you completely as you state. However, you will be alienated and viewed as an outcast by the larger majority who want to consider themselves 'honour pures'. You will have no e-respect with honour pures. You won't be allowed to carry teles in clan wars and if you do, you will most likely get booted out and your name will be blacklisted with all of the clans. I personally sent around 20 or so people who we found out to be carrying teles and sent their names to every single clan I knew. As far as I know only the non-honour clans accepted the people and the honour teams auto-denied them. If you're 'okay' with being viewed as an arrogant, ignorant, immature 12 year old by the other 12 year olds who play and consider themselves to be 'honour pures', then go for it. Tele and protect all you want. If you have any reputation on here or in-game it will eventually catch up with you and no one is going to care about you or your opinions.
  17. I'll remake Pure Annihilation.
  18. Holy crap. Seriously? I'm in disbelief.
  19. Because we, the pures, would be organizing it, for us? Why would we organize something for mains? Jagex doesn't need to care if its for mains or pures. I would organize this, but I've been inactive for 2 years. I'm in no position to organize this. Maybe assist, but not head of it.
  20. Any pure teams left need to just stick up for themselves and say to use 1 def only armour or just put a 10 def level ban on any war they do. Create a reason to go back to <10 defense and not to let the higher defense accounts be called pure or have whatever clan benefits pures should have.
  21. Has anyone tried this before? Not that I know of. Does Jagex almost always state that they 'support' pures, even if their updates are never geared towards us? From everything Jagex has said or done, you can either believe that Jagex is not as bad as everyone thinks and their hand has been forced to do negative updates towards us, or yes, you can interpret them to be idiots. But we don't know if this is possible or not. From my experience with game publishers, this shouldn't be all that difficult to achieve if they're willing to consider our offers.
  22. The amount of money Jagex would be awarding as prizes would be negligible. The effect of giving <3M in prizes every week to 15-20 players is going to be like...0.0004% on the total economy. The effect it will have is completely negligible and not worth worrying about. If Jagex were to use this as a reason to not give out prizes, they would be stating lies. What do clans have to do with this? Why does a clan's overall strength matter at all in this? What are you talking about, lol? They have no reason other than to make their customers happy on how they choose to play their game. Jagex has every right to not support this or hand out prizes, but you never know until you try. There's tons of reasons why Jagex should support this & they would make a tiny bit more money from people renewing subscriptions if this kept the pure community alive and kicking around. It is in their better interest to support this. However it isn't a guarantee. Jagex is very awkward at handling customer relations and customer/player events. There will be no way mains are allowed into this. <20 defense. Preferably over time lowering it down to <10 defense. You basically highlighted the arbitrary reasons why this would not work. These such reasons could go either way depending on how Jagex reacts. And we won't necessarily know until there's an attempt at it. --- RWT won't be an issue though. It is going to take time and the right players to win an event. Which makes it insanely hard to predict who is going to win and who is going to be able to RWT with the money. If it is found out that they do RWT, it is easily traceable since such a small amount of players will be receiving large sums of cash like this. So you'd be shooting yourself in the foot if you tried to RWT. -- If you people don't want to read something that is valid in the potential it has to increase pure activity & help out what you are in this game, then why do you even bother come to these forums or try to immerse yourself in the community? It's pretty disgusting you do not have any level of commitment to read something like this and give input on it because you are too lazy. I honestly hope you rethink your laziness and contribute to benefiting the pure community instead of sitting back and watching us waste away.
