so over 1.2k pures in the wild so why do we only ever see like 300 or so at most half of the time... what are they all doing :s

Same reason you guys have 125 ML but only pull 70-90 in P2P. A fraction of these overall pures in pure clans won't be at the trip one way or the other. Also, you need to remember some clans start and end earlier than the times you fight.
