Ingame Recruiting

Chain Is Law

I think standing in a spot going "VISIT WWW.MYCLANWHATEVER.COM FOR PURE KLEN" is stupid.

If you happen to have a 1v1 at edge with a good pure or something, and you're like "oh dude you should check out my clan," that's not a problem.

Just my opinion.

I Agree 100%

I call that mass recruiting, if you're just at g,e chillin' and find a pure thats not a halfwitt and try to recruit them cause they meet the reqs, thats just topping up your member list.

Getting kids outside of the pure clanning community involved is being smart.

Inviting kids to come to your official trips isn't.

Maybe try hosting multiple midweek unofficial trips and invite them to those, so the kids who like it can stay and app and actually become something good in the clan

(This isn't directed to anyone, it's just as simple as it's said.)

Going Flash2: Join ____ Today for insane pk or whatever is what I consider to be massing. However, if you target one person and persuade them to join the clan, that's fair game.

Recruiting is when you get someone to intro, apply, attend events and join your clan.

Mass recruiting/invites is when you invite random people to your pk trip without any expectation of commitment.

tl;dr, yes you do.

This is just a fabricated version of CP trying to say they don't mass recruit with maple syrup poured ontop

Chain you know very well you treat your clan as if it were a specialised masser cc, so I don't understand why your trying to divert from that idea.

No, its not cool to mass up random pures you've never even talked to before (or ever again). In the main clan world that would be considered NH. In the pure clan world that would be considered NH. Idk what world you live in.

TBH, never let another clan dictate how you run yours. Clans who flame and troll the in-game recruiting are the ones who can't ever do it and get jelly. Sure, they have little to no experience and have no interest in your community at all but a few of them will stay. In my eyes, if they go through your application system properly, it's not mass recruiting. I remember how people used to call Calamity 'mass recruiters' because they were jelly of our memberlist. Stupid newfag leaders get mad and make up words.

I'll not side with Cp or any other clan on the subject. I'll just state my view and leave.

What does it matter what "world" you're in? I agree with the;

its not cool to mass up random pures you've never even talked to before

but it seems that it's better to ask Pures outside the community than to recruit within it as you get the people who got bored of the next clan.

Chain seems to be doing what he knows, which in his case seems to be in-game recruiting. You all attack him for what he is not. Just because he doesn't bend to your vision of the, "Pure World." I don't want to attack anyone here, but you're all stuck up with pride to be matching your version of the Pure World.

Doesn't it seem odd that our oldest and most loyal members come from masser clans? I came from them, same with most other people that joined up pre-Bh. In Pre-Bh every clan would ask someone to come to a trip or two to see what it's like, but during the CW/Bh era everybody came into this, "NOT ON ML, NH," stage which has lasted and expanded to this day. Anyone old school from Mm/Foe or any old clan that can back this up? I remember it very clearly as I hung around Foe/Mm forums a lot and with some of Foe's ranks before Pure Community, and during the reign of PC I joined up with Epidemic. Friends were normal at trips. I even went to Foe trips as an invited friend right after Pvp came out and E V2 was opening.

By the way, the picture with someone spamming join cc, I don't really agree with that, but it's a method to get exposure, is it not?

tl:dr - you're all(somewhat) going through a stage somewhat similar to puberty, however this time(I'm sure most of you went through it already...) there's no one who wants to tell you different.

Well if you're talking about allowing 'invites' to attend your trip, I think it's completely disrespectful to your members and if I was a member and the leader allowed that, I'd leave straight away. What is the point in applying if any old person can attend your events? There isn't one, so your member just wasted his/her time. And back to the age old reason we pk, for loot, it just means that random kids get the loot instead of your members. Clans care too much about winning wars nowadays because of all the **** talking and hype they build their members up with. Stfu and go get some loot.

So if you had this real cool friend in life that had a pure and came over with a laptop(assuming he knows you play rs lol) or something and asked what you were doing, what would you do. Ignore him and say that your being disrespectful? Ha.

I've met personalities that I seriously would of liked meeting in life, even on Pure Warfare I've met some, people that I know are great in life just because of the way they talk or type. It was the same back when I played Rs, I'd log on, go training, meet someone and talk for a few hours. Asked him to come to an Epidemic trip, and guess what, he stayed loyal till the very end. I did this a few times, all were great members as I taught them to use IRC, Ventrilo and forums. Ten loyalists right there.

Some watch as opportunities slip away, others don't know the opportunities are there. Gone forever.

EOP recruited a few members at pest control, it was frowned upon by a few clans, and CP was one of them....blah blah blah EOP are PC prods etc. you guys are horrible....my ass haha, we still got a few solid members that we probably recruited from PC, some of them are now ranks.... but when CP does it, somehow you guys feel it is the right thing to do....so basically your calling yourselves hypocrits for doing it yourselves, yet we are the ones who got called out for it.

To honestly answer your question though....it's ok in a sense I suppose, we don't go walking around asking people to join our clan because we are hurtin for members, but if you see someone who is honourable, experienced, and mature then by all means, it might work out for the best....but asking random people may not help a whole lot....the smart ones will actually fill out an app form with detail, and be active, those are the ones that are worth your time....saying in-game "join Chain69 cc for clan/pk trip" are the ones that are probably not worth trying to recruit at all.

No flame is intended in this post, im just trying to get my point across thats all....was all I could think of lol.

Your clan do what you want. If the public influences how you take care of your clan then you should just close.

I don't care if clans recruit in game, have them post an introduction, apply, and then attend events, there's nothing wrong with that what so ever.

but lets be realistic here Chain, that's not the case.

Exactly. I actually 1v1 a guy solo, W32. He got the KO on me and later we started talking. He was a good pking, with good stats, and not an immature kid so I referred him to clan. He's applying ;)
