You can't control the way in which jagex updates the game. It happened. People took advantage of it. Your no better then someone who is 30 def. Your definition is just different. Come to the table half way on the issue. You don't need to accept 30 def yourself, but its time to cut the crap and not preach to others how they play their runescape.com account. MM is just as integral as any other clan. They should remove the ban, you guys should start posting and be apart of the community solution that has to do with out of game ****. Before you can do this though you need to be humble enough to know you can't change how a 14 year old kid levels his runescape account. The term pure is not a subjective definition. Are you going to hold the same stance when people start accepting 5 more def levels and are bringing rune and more to trips? When CP, and invevitably everyone else follows and gets 40 def, are you guys going to just sit there and say "adapt" or "you can't tell us how to play"? We follow the classical definition of a pure. A pure remains constant while the game evolves. It may make the account build obsolete, but it doesn't change what defines a pure. By your definition, zerkers should be included in this community. Do you want that? Restricting armour is no solution. It's temporary if anything. Obviously nothing can be done in one week, but what's the point in restricting armour to only monk robes when nothing is being done to solve the problem of actual def level? WAR is doing it right because they're employing a temporary solution in removing all addy from their trips and restricting their recruitment to only 20-22 def max or whatever. While not outright kicking everyone 30 def, that's a good solution. Why should MM come back? What do we gain from being part of this community? We're clearly different from the rest of you, we can call ourselves pure still and stay away from this taint. We have no reason to come back, and as it stands, there is no way of being "part of the solution" because the entire problem revolves around 30 def, and any "solution" that lets clans keep their turmoil, defense and whatever else is unacceptable. I was a leader in MM for some time, and while without a doubt we have leaders/members who can't hold an articulate conversation, there are still some who can. I'm a part of, and have been for some time a member/leader in other game communities and I know that it's not easy to get leaders together to discuss the future of a community, but it has to get done at some point if you guys want to keep going. With or without MM, soon enough you guys will be facing the problems that accepting rune will bring. The exact same garbage that was used to justify mith and addy (btw, we caved in for mith, never again will we "meet half way.") will be used to justify rune and because you go by a subjective definition of pure, you'll have to accept it. Good luck when that happens. I also should have been less critical of PW in past posts. To me it just seems like they don't realize their importance as a meeting place for the community, and in allowing addy to remain and post here, they support it.

They talk big, if they could have, they would have taken more accounts by now. They're probably using something like spokeo.com if they're going by email to get personal info.

So how are you going to lead a revolution? It takes action, and frankly, it's all talk right now. MM decided its place in this when we crashed rvb and were banished from this place. How are you going to change how it is? It takes the leaders of the community to make a change, and seeing how the leader of this community site doesn't want to initiate change himself, there are fewer options. If you're serious about what you say, back it up with actions, because a revolution is only successful if it has an impact, these topics do nothing.

So you're just explaining the already obvious faults of the pure community. It's been discussed to death already and you repeating it doesn't mean anything. The read is very straight forward and it comes across strongly that you really don't care about the pure community or think it is a hopeless case. I don't know if you have any experience with any respectable internet communities (it doesn't seem so but I may be wrong) but the way you talk down towards the users here makes this whole thing seem like some little experiment to entertain you. Don't forget that the pure community existed without its own dedicated community board and that the opportunity to post win topics and stuff like that didn't do anything to strengthen the community. You're obviously not willing to make changes to the community you like to think you overseer, so why do you stay?

How much can one clan do? We run a community site more active than this one, but we don't represent the entire pure world as the rest of the RS players see it. It's clear from polls here that the majority of people don't see 30 def as pure, and I know that Omni has already stated that he doesn't think 30 def is pure, yet why does this site remain home to those who keep pushing for higher def? It doesn't make sense. People want change yet the supposed leaders of the community won't do anything to change it. We have enough to deal with in MM right now, and I honestly don't think that our current leadership in MM is capable/willing of engaging in any talks or starting anything up to "pave the way" alone. As I've said before, the only way to progress from here is from the ground up, and that means that the leaders of this community site will have to act on what they believe is right, something that doesn't seem likely to happen anytime soon.

Close to those numbers, but we had a larger memberlist and those pulls went to waste because fights were hard to come by.

Only limiting factor is ML. MM have used two chats on multiple occassions and using multiple chats has little if any effect on the pull. If we expanded our ML to around 300 or so we could probably hit 200 easily, but that's not the case.

You're in Eop. If you want to see change, make the change to your own clan before you ask others to follow. Think we like being the only pure clan who upholds the values of older times as MM? It's up to clan leaders and community leaders to make the change. Problem is, clan leaders now don't want to take the effort to make the change and the community leaders of such sites like this one don't want to do their part because it would mean getting on people's bad side.

The responses here are just pathetic, I swear, most of you people have no idea what you're talking about and have no understand as to how a functional and respectable community is supposed to function. I can't believe some of you guys are so ignorant to even say 2 def isn't pure... Realize that 10 def was ALWAYS considered pure. Such a negligible combat difference from the ideal of 1 def didn't really matter and so it was still considered pure. There was an understanding that the principle was always to keep 1 def, but 10 def was also acceptable because of the mechanics back in the day. Most of you don't realize, but it was extremely easy to get def in early RS. You were locked into controlled upon log in and couldn't swap combat styles until you engaged in combat. Say you got disconnected while training on aggressive monsters (ie. anywhere in the wild) you were pretty much screwed because the second you logged on you were hit first in a 3 round combat system which meant as you retaliated you had no time to switch from controlled to an appropriate attack style. This was understood and ~10 def was given to act as a buffer for pures. Anyone who says "if we can't call 35 def pure, you can't call 2 def pure" is wrong. And to one of the above posts saying 31/43 pray was frowned upon, it wasn't if you had a certain strength level. I think it was 81, I can't remember, but there was a level where it made your account more powerful. I'm not going to go into the history of a pure, because so few people are here that even remember/played during the time it was established it isn't worth mentioning. 30 def is acceptable today because there is no person or group of people who want to take the time to speak with each other and establish what it means to be a pure. Most people here go by the faulty definition of a pure being an account that is the best offensive account with the lowest possible def, but they're wrong. That fit into the original definition of a pure and was the driving reason for being a pure, but what made the pure what it was is the complete neglect of def in favour of combat stats. Times have changed and the old build is no longer optimal, but this does not change what a pure is, is just made pures less effective in comparison to other builds. If we want to get back on track to what a pure really is, we need to define ourselves once again and build this community from the ground up if it comes to that. What seperates the RS community from more respectable gaming communities (something almost no one here has experience with) is not only the maturity, but that the "leaders" of our community can't even get together, take a step back from all the drama and sort out these huge issues we're having. As leaders of a community board like this, why do you support clans that have 30 def when you don't even agree with it yourself? How long until the majority of this community starts to accept rune? In supporting clans that have 30 def you're not doing any good for this community. What can't be salvaged in this community needs to be dropped and we all have to move on. The entire pure community suffered a serious blow many years back and we rebounded, it can be done again. You people see this community for what it is now and seek to change it when most of the elements here will never change. Myself and others see the community for what it could be, know what needs to be done to restore it but can't do it ourselves. Step up and do what's right for the community.

It's a fun event. all our events are fun, otherwise we wouldn't bother doing them :rolleyes: Then why decline fairly evenly matched full out wars even if the rules aren't completely in your favor. It's all for the sake of fun right? :rolleyes: Directed at all clans. MM, TLP, Fi, CP, Havoc and more have all declined fullouts from us in the last year, so you tell me :nuke: Seeing as you were the ones to decline our counter offer (rules which favoured less defense which should be something all clans in this "pure" community should abide by), I can just as easily say you declined our offer for a full out.

Which is what? Pull 100, clans have done that... Taken #1, plenty of clans have done that. Proved doubters wrong? Plenty of clans have done that. Was referring more to maintaining a permanent spot in the top 3 with foe/mm, no other clan in years has managed to consistently match their pulling/organizational power, and considering 18 months ago we were pulling 40s to trips, to now having spent the past year fighting at the top, i don't see any other clan coming close to doing that. Considering it only took you guys 35+ def to do so, I'd say congratulations.

Yeah, but I consider 20 defence just as bad though, my opinion. Don't get me wrong I'm impressed with MM's avg defence level in comparison to their combat level, but in regards to 20/30 def, im a firm believer in 30 def over 20 def anydays due to the fact I love p2p and the bonuses it gives over 20 defence. Then you have the wrong definition of pure in mind. Pures are not accounts that try to find the sweet spot between defense and offensive bonuses that come from defense, that is a berserker with turmoil/veng. You want to talk bonuses/gains for def above 20, there is absolutely no reason to stay at 30. 40 far, far outclasses 30 in every way imaginable, and for some clans it is just a mere combat level or two away. Pures by their very definition do not get def regardless of what bonuses come at that unattainable def level even if it is just one or two levels out of reach. However you want to justify def, go do it, but you're going to be wrong every single time. 20 def is not "just as bad" as 30 def because we aren't making up some arbitrary value and giving it to an account with respect to offensive bonuses at certain defense levels, it is a buffer and that's how it functions. There's no justification for higher def, and once you're above that defense level you're no longer considered pure at all and "not as bad" is meaningless.
